David Clark Gilmore

David Clark Gilmore, 78, of Cary, NC, passed away on November 23, 2025.

Born on December 25th, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a devoted husband for 59 years to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Gilmore. He went on to get his Ph.D. at The Ohio State University and spent most of his career as a professor of Industrial Psychology at UNC Charlotte.

He was a really good dad. He always had time for his family, taking them to their favorite events, taking them on trips around the world, and helping them navigate life’s challenges big and small.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Rinehart) Gilmore, children Andrea Morgan and Kelsey Gilmore, four grandchildren Josh Morgan, Stella Gilmore, Colby Gilmore, and Max Gilmore, and his brothers Doug Gilmore and Robert Gilmore. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Gilmore, who passed away in 2024.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, December 13th at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center at 119 Ambassador Loop in Cary, NC from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
